1. Grind the damaged part of the conveyor belt using an angle grinder in conjunction with a tungsten steel grinding disc.
2. According to the size of the damaged part of the conveyor belt, select the corresponding conveyor belt repair strip or patch with a semi vulcanized layer (the repair strip or patch should be at least 15-20mm larger than the damaged part). Inmet recommends using a conveyor belt repair strip or patch with a semi vulcanized layer. For materials without a semi vulcanized layer, it is recommended to deeply polish the bonding surface.
3. Apply belt adhesive to the damaged parts of the conveyor belt and the semi vulcanized surface of the conveyor belt repair strip, let it dry for a while, and then proceed with the second coat of paint (let it dry until it does not stick to your hands, usually for five minutes at room temperature).
4. Straighten the repair strip and stick it onto the polishing surface of the conveyor belt, and use a rubber hammer or compaction roller to knock and compact it to expel air.
Reminder: If the ambient temperature is too low, it is recommended to use an iodine tungsten lamp or a hot air gun to heat for 0.5 to 1 hour. If the heating time is allowed to be extended appropriately, it will be beneficial for improving the strength of the bonding surface.
